I think since my husband's brain surgery, life has just been crazy. He graduated shortly after, we've moved twice (and probably will move again soon. We're not in love with this rental.)and he got a job. A lot of transition for our little family.
I've spent most my time and energy in trying to get the most important things in order. I've tried to make our home a more peaceful comforting place for my DH. (Well for all of us, but more so for him since noise really bothers him now that it's all channeled to one ear.) I've tried to be on top of the cleaning and cooking. I've tried to take my kids out more. I've tried get involved in our new ward. I've tried to unpack and fit all our stuff in this new space. I've tried to prepare FHE and family activities.
Somewhere in all that's been happening, I've forgotten a bit of myself. It's not that I don't want to do those things for my family. I do. I honestly love being a mom and a wife. I just can't remember the last time I've gone for a run. I hadn't made anything since I started working on that quilt again. Things I love to do for me. It's just been a lot of the same things everyday and I've felt like I've been in a rut for awhile. Not anymore.
I've been sewing again for the past week and I've forgotten how much I love to create things! It's such a different feeling of accomplishment than the feeling I get when I clean a toilet. Makes me feel good about myself. So I'm going to continue to create and fill my poor neglected shop because it's fun for me and in a strange way kind of liberating that I can do something just because.
This blog might look like something of a craft blog for a bit, so bear with me as I post things that you probably don't care about. I'll still post family stuff too!

This apron is going in the shop today.
